Successful sportsmen in our region
1) Alpine skiing
In the more recent past the neighbouring municipality St.Jakob, the whole valley, indeed the whole district Osttirol could be proud of Ida Ladstätter and Manfred Kleinlercher as World-Cup-ski racers. And now Mario Scheiber seems to be their very talented successor (membership in the Austrian Ski Federation cadre according to top results in FIS-races). Mario - a former pupil of the Secondary Modern School in St. Jakob - has won races in all events. We all do hope that Mario will go free of injuries so that he can reach his goal and win a World-Cup-Race one day.

3) Humour
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are going camping. They
pitch their tent
under the stars and go to sleep. Some time in the middle of the night,
Holmes wakes Watson up. "Watson, look up at the stars, and tell
me what you deduce."
Watson says: "I see millions of stars and even if a few of those
have
planets, it's quite likely there are some planets like Earth; and
if there
are a few planets like Earth out there, there might also be life."
Holmes replies: "Watson, you idiot, somebody stole our tent!"
